EARLY NOVELS UNDER PSEUDONYM Michael Crichton started writing very early, partly in order to earn some money as a student. As many of his characters could be traced back to colleagues or professors at his medical school, he chose to publish under pseudonyms. He used three of them -John Lange, Jeffery Hudson and Michael Douglas- but the first one he used most often.
